Smile Figured I'd join because of my new FC RX7 project

I'm new to the forum here, but I've been lurking around here for years. This was the first place I would come if I wanted to research RX7 things. So now that I own an RX7, I figured that I should finally make an account!

I picked up a huge project S5 FC GXL two days ago. The body and undercarriage are super clean and straight, it has a NA S5 transmission in the back of my truck, the interior is completely stock and all in the car. The only draw back is the wiring harness is on the ground and the engine bay is completely empty.

Got a line on a 13b-REW from an FD, will an S5 N/A trans fit on the REW and what would I need to modify on the wiring harness? Are there other options for engines that would work better? I know other people on here have taken on projects this big, so anyone got tips, tricks, and things to keep in mind when going into this build?

I am excited for the journey and I'm glad a community for these cars exists, thanks!

Hey congrats on picking up the FC and welcome to the forum. You've come to the right place, but unfortunately I don't have enough experience with FC's to give you the answer that you're looking for. Good luck to ya!

Its my understanding that all fc and fd transmissions are interchangeable, but you must use the clutch, flywheel, etc. to match the transmission.

Welcome to the forum!! Looks like you have an awesome project and a good plan ahead laid out on what you want to do. For the technical questions, we can get those answered in the 2nd gen tech section.

Welcome! Hope you can get this thing back on the road. They're getting more and more uncommon.
