FD Owner in NM

Hello all,

Thought I did this already, but I guess not... I currently own a 93 Touring Edition FD. Sadly I jumped the gun with zero knowledge of the car. I think the most knowledge I had of it was it was not a piston and the 3 mile test drive in a RX8. With that said I bought the car and blow, possibly the Turbo Oil Seal. I am not 100 percent on it. GREAT NEWS is in the 3 years of owning it I have learned a lot more about the car and grew as a mechanic.

Currently the car has the motor out and I will be doing a complete tear down and rebuild if everything is in spec. My goal is to make it run with a couple track/autox days under its belt, then start working on the motor again. My goal is a street car that I can take to the track.

If you want to see the progress my buddy has a YouTube channel that will post all the updates and other random car events.

Thank you all

A quick update, I was able to take the transmission off from the block. After doing it I now know my mistake. Thankfully, nothing looks broken in the trans. I will need to do a 5th gear synchro swap/change before I install it back to the motor, but that will have to wait. I don't have a 54mm socket to take the counter balance weight off, so that is also on hold. Currently looking at the GT4088R or the GT4094R turbos, with ID1700x primaries and ID1050x secondaries. I will be running AI soon after to keep engine temps down.
