Hi,
I've actually been a member of RX7Club for awhile, but never got around to doing the new member stuff. I'm from Florida, born and raised. I've owned two RX7's in my lifetime so far, as well as many other cool Japanese cars. My first one was a pristine 1988 SE model RX7, and I regrettably lost the car in a car deal that went bad (currently in a search to try and find and get it back in my possession). I currently own a 1986 Base model RX7, that looks like my original one, but not as clean. But its a work in progress.
I'm a mechanic by trade, and I currently work as a kart mechanic at Autobahn Indoor Speedway located in Jacksonville, FL. Several of my co-workers also own RX7's of different generations. The automotive industry completely rules my life. Every day of every week. And I wouldn't have it any other way.
Cars are not just a hobby for me, its a way of life and something that I never see changing. There are all kinds of cool characters you can meet in different places, and have 3 hour conversations with a complete stranger based solely on cars. It's a language on its own. We may as well have our own continent. While there may be constant debates on how a car should be built, or what the proper stance is for a car, we all have something in common. And there are not many communities out there that can say they have such a large following. I hope that as long as there is a person in need of help, we can rise to the occasion, put our thoughts and differences to the side, and just help each other out.
I'm glad to be part of a community that has rich history and interesting characters, and I look forward to the conversations to come.
Thanks,
Dustin M.
