Decided to buy FD: mint condition, Rotary or LSx?
After lurking the forums for years, and nurturing the FD love-affair since Sport Compact Car project FD (Shiv Pahtak's car now of Vishnu Performance), I decided I want am ready to get me an RX7.
I don't have time nor desire to recondition/restore a run down car, I want to enjoy it the car from the start.
I am however open to fine-tune it to my own needs and desires:
The focus is street oriented backroad and track-day car- great suspension, reliable power, and low-mileage fresh/tight feeling chassis.
I am looking for feedback: I have tested in the past several LSx conversion FD's and all of them felt "unfinished" project. However, the Lsx reliability - especially considering California hot track-day atmosphere- is very appealing.
On the other hand, I just tested a 35K mile FD and it felt very nice and tight: Mazdaspeed short shifter and smooth cluth, good power, all felt great.
I'd like to hear from people who track their Rotary powered FD's, and perhaps those who know of finished FD LSX conversion, that feel OEM- factory like conversion - A) if it is possible to achieve factory like feel with LSX conversion and B) if Rotary FD can be realiable (non-overheating) and non-loosing-power from high heat track-day tool.

Received no feedback, so are some further notes based on the experience so far.
I am looking for near mint FD with twin turbo's,
To maintain great drivability and reliability, I want a car with either 99 or BNR stock-frame.
I'd like to ask for advice:
what intercooler is most efficient, even if it requires body-mod?
What radiator is most efficient-recommended?
What cold-air intake works best on twins?
What exhaust for quiet-power: something that is street-oriented, but not restrictive.
For bumpy back-road, and track, what suspension systems are recommnded- regardless of price: Tein Flex seems to be a basic standard that works well. What else has proven itself compliant but with great body control to bridge the street-track compromise?
For brakes, I presume stock is not enough: what is recomomended as the next step, maybe something based on common Evo/Porsche Brembo calipers that is cost-effective.
