VA Darkside 1987 Mazda New Here

Hello Everyone,

My Name is Phong, I live in Northern Virginia and I have a 1987 Mazda with a V8 swapped into it. I'm not going to called it an RX7 because I know many people are quite sensitive here and say that if it doesn't have a 13b its no longer an rx7.

Anyways, I have been lerking the forums for quite a long time, I've used a lot of the technical post here to solve issues I ran into when I was building my car. Today I decided to join to ask for help, but I guess members are not allowed to create threads in the technical section until they've properly introduced themselves.

Anyhow,

here is my car,

Its a 1987 Mazda RX.... err... Mazda V87... the prototype model that Mazda never released.

As stated earlier, I came here for help, but could not post in the technical section

I went to try to get a safety inspection today,

but as soon as the inspector turned on the key, he said this car won't pass inspection because the gauge cluster light test isn't working.

That all gauge cluster warning lights need to turn on when the engine stalls

I believe Mazda moved this to the information gauge cluster in the center, but the warning light test doesn't work either.

Some lights turn on when the car is low on fuel, the door is open, the rear hatch is open, or the rear brake lights go out.

but they don't all turn on when the engine stalls. Of course not... I butchered the wiring shoving a v8 in.

I need to know if the FC rx7s ever had all the warning lights go on during start up or stall. I don't remember my car ever doing this. I also need ideas to how I can get this to work.

Maybe set something up so that if the car detects 0 RPMS the warning lights turn on?

I hate to fail inspection for small things like this.
