Hello everone my name is danny,
i recently purchased my first RX7.
1985 MR2 - First Car
1986 MR2 - 20v Motor swap
1986 AE86
1986 MR2 - 2nd 20v Swap (Current Daily driver)
1986 RX7 - First RX7 and Current Restoration Project.
Inbetween a few of those is a 95 Ram 2500 V10, 95 740IL, 88 Civic Hatch, 91 Civic Hatch.
SO, Pretty much since i was a kid, playing gran tourismo 1 and 2 with my older brother, i always had a thing for the RX7. Mainly the FD, but some FC in there aswell.
I came across a guy who said he had an RX7 that has been garaged and sitting for 10 years or more, and that he just wanted it gone. I asked him what kind of price are we talking about? he said he just wanted to get back some of the money that he had into it. which surprisingly wasnt too much because 850 bucks later i own one of my favorite cars since i was a child. i secretly had a crush on this chassis and i am glad i made it happen.
My current plans at the moment are to sand off the faded silver, and begin prepping the engine bay for paint aswell. i am currently removing everything from the engine bay, degreasing her, dressing her up and then laying some paint.
I have absolutely no desire to go V8.
i have yet to decide on a color for the engine bay.
i need to start browsing images. Any color suggestions would be great.
the car came with a spare 13b that i want to refresh and throw into the car.
the old one has been pulled out. removing AC and other useless bits.
should be starting body work in the next months. Probably through winter.
