OR Dad helping kid find a car

Hey guys, I'm a dad that loves cars and happy that might kid wants to buy his first sports car. He's interested a 2nd gen RX7. We found one near his school that has very low miles and the price is cheap, but it not running. The owner claims that the fuel pump seized. That sounds a bit unlikely to me, although a fuel pump issue generally could be the problem.

I'm interested in any reaction to the fuel pump claim. I could figure it out if I were local to the car and could tinker with it, but I'm a long ways away.

I'm also interested in what sort of problems you would expect to find in a rotary that has sat for a year without starting.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi there and welcome to RX-7club.
Sounds like you and your son have your work cut out for ya. I'm sure it will be well worth the time. One thing to watch out for when rotary engine has been sitting is carbon lock. Many threads about it here on the forum. Good luck!
