from chicago saying hi to all of you rotor heads

Hey what's up guys. I'm new to this but bro rotary as much. I own two rx7s1st gen. A 79n a 84 my 79 was bought as a shell for $200 5 years ago and I am almost done with it. I have a 12a 4port with a Holley intake. Flowmaster exsaust a turbo 2 trans a 85gsl-se rear end 4.11 with no computer. So its all manual.
My second one is a current project it is a 84 gsl. I am planning on doing a rew setup with a Ford 9in rear and turbo 2 front suspension. The car needs whole restoration. So I'm still on that part but when I get to the engine and rear end and all that good stuff ill post it up so you all can see.
Thank you all for accepting me in to your club and hope to hear from all of you!( sorry for my grammar)

Welcome!

Sounds like you have a couple of nice projects going. Can I ask why you are going with the 9" rear? You may be best off with either the stock rear or maybe an 8.8. The 9" is heavy and has lots of drivetrain loss. You may want to see what the other guys on here have used and maybe you will find that you won't need to use the 9".

Hey, im planning on a 9in because I'm putting a REW in there and I'm planning on a lot of power. But your right. I'm going to work front to back. Start with the motor then see how much ho I'm dealing with and then see on a rear end but this is going to me a drag car and I'm not going to have much use of it in the street

Yes. Please read up a bit. I doubt that you will need the 9". There are guys on here making some serious power on the stock rear or on a 8.8. Cosmo engines (13B or 20B), REWs, etc.

Once you get your post count up, I would suggest checking out the drag race section, single turbo section, as well as the 1st gen section. For instance, here is a good thread from the 1st gen section on the subject:

Good luck with the build. We have a lot of experienced folks on here that can help you sort out the details.
