Building new racecar

Hi my names Jon and I race with the SCCA in GTL in a Suzuki Swift. I'm currently building a new car for GTL. It's a tube frame 2009 Miata with a 12A. I've been surfing around the site for a while and figured I should register so i can post.

I'm going to run a streetport 12A with a 89-91 center and upper intake and plan on running a Megasquirt FI system.

I hope to have the car out later this summer.

Jon

You cant use 86 and up irons or housings with 85 and previous irons or housings. If you are wanting to convert to a FI setup on your 12A you will need to use the center iron from the GSL-SE 13B which is only available in 84 or 85.

The rules say it has to be a 12A, so all 12A housings.

I'm using a Racing Beat lower with an adapter plate to the 91 center and upper intake. I'm going to add 2 injectors to the center runners.

Sorry, I misread what you typed. I thought you were saying you were going to use a 89-91 center iron and the matching upper intake mani. I have heard FI 12As before and they idle smooth and seem to run really well. Post up some vids of it when you get it running.
