OH Brand new

Hey i am going to buy a 1983 rx7 but i wanted to now if its worth time and money to put into this car after i buy it. I know here it will be a little biased but i am going to college soon and am wanting a project car that will be fun / challenging to work on. My dad had an 82 right as they came out so hopefully he would be allowing and help me pay for it. The guy is asking 1300 for it so i hope it is legit. Will be looking at it this weekend hopefully. Here are some pics

Go for it...just make sure you ask that he NOT start the car in the morning before you go to check it out. Put your hand on the engine and the radiator to make sure they are cool and then ask him to start the car up. Stand by the driver's side door and see what he does to crank it up and then set the choke.

That, and the amount and type of smoke first emitted and then still there 5 minutes later will tell you 80% of the engine's story. A little white smoke at the beginning is ok, it's condensation burning up, but it should all clear up by 5 minutes.

The car looks great, but why are they always red??

Welcome aboard! Hopefully, you won't let the car get in the way of finishing college in a timely fashion!
