Boston area FD
What's up everyone, name is Bert, I live in the North Shore area of Boston and I'm a really happy guy, especially now that I've acquired my long sought dream of owning a '93 Mazda RX-7 R1 edition.
I purchased it from Oklahoma in meticulous condition and it almost saddens me to bring it to new England, a salty place that turns car into rust boxes, but I will do my best to keep this baby stored indoors and well taken care of.
anyway. it has a common problem I guess, hot start-up issues, or lack thereof
when I bought it I changed the fuel pump on it, it ran well for 2 days, then I coasted it in the driveway and it hasn't started back up since, I don't hear the fuel pump priming but when I took the plug out I smelled some fuel in them....
I wish I could just upload a picture the basic way... im rusty on forum, telecommunications nowadays..

I got the car running and all. Turns out the problem with the car was, upon changing the fuel pump. the o-ring that goes on the nipple of it, that connects to the canister, flipped sideways upon installation, restricting the flow of the fuel. It's very tricky how that o-ring needs to be placed when assembling the canister where the pump goes....after having fixed that it started right up and has been reliable since.
Aside from that I got a little high idling going on right now, but that must be a vacuum line or something, nothing major.
thanks for the welcomes fellow rotary enthusiasts!
