MI big project 86 fc in MI

hello rx-7 club! my name is Logan and im excited to start on my recently acquired 86, this is my first car project. i got the car for 550. and I'm happy i ended up with a 7 instead of a more common 240.

the engine is frozen, so it will have to come out. as much as it may kill you to read it but a chevy 350 will be going in. its the cheapest and easiest. im 19 so im broke. maybe later on ill rebuild a rotory for it, or another v8, or a jz. lol. in the meantime i plan to learn as much as i can and make a sick car!

some pictures!

Good luck! I'm doing a similar build also. Might want to look into Junkyard builds using a 5.3L out of a Yukon or Silverado or something similar. They are really cheap to come by and are great for boost if done right!

The LM7 osonething or other right? Like a steelblock ls

I really would want to go fuel injected but i already have an old sbc block and i know it will be cheaper but im still thinking about finding a wrecked yukon

How is your prodject going?

Awesome find man! What part of Michigan are you located in? I'm in Detroit just picked up a first gen myself, would be cool to meet up as we get our builds set up.

not sure exactly what you mean. but its not to hard to make power with a gen1 sbc.

i was gunna bore it to 355 and put vortec heads on it to start. with the right cam and other parts that will make 400hp easy.

but ive decided to go LM7 instead. much more modern, and fuel injected
