Talking Ben's '88 RX-7 GTU SCCA Time Trails Car

Hello, all!

Long time member here, and part of the Colorado Region SCCA. I'm on my 4th FC, the current car is a 88 GTU. So it started life as a non-turbo, it's primary purpose is my track car but I (just about) keep it street legal.

2025 SPEC LIST:

Interior:
OMP HTE-R Seat
OMP 300MM wheel
Powertune Digital Dash

Exterior:
Turbo hood/bonnet with RE-A style reverse scoop
RE-A Type 2 rear spoiler
Corksport lip

Engine/Drivetrain:
S4 motor with new S4 turbo housing
S4 NA Irons
S4 Turbo LIM
S6 LIM
Greddy S6 elbow
Custom low V mount layout intercooler
Street Ported
BNR turbo
Racing Beat header/manifold
Haltech 1500
All emissions removed
ACT clutch
340LPH DeatschWerks Fuel Pump
DeatschWerks inline fuel filter
Peterson inline oil filter
Koyo radiator
Turblown baffled oil filler
Custom vented catch can
Custom baffled oil pan
Flex Fuel E85 sensor
Custom vented fuel tank
1050 + 1300 ID injectors
LS coil packs
HKS 3" Exhaust + straight pipe
Greddy Air filter mounted in front of radiator

Suspension & Chassis:
Fortune Auto Coilovers
Racing beat sway bars & endlinks
Factory GTU 4-pot calipers w/ Hawk DTC pads
Aftermarket toe arms + Camber link

Wheels:
Street: Rays Volk Evo 3 17x8 front and 17x9 rear w/ Maxxis VR1 tyre 245 wide tire
Track: 5zigen FN01R-C 17x9 square w/ Bridgestone RE-71RS 255 wide tire

2025 plans include swapping the turbo drivetrain w/ new clutch & flywheel, vented D-max style hood (needs more cooling on track) IGN1A coils and I've got a bolt in roll bar/cage and OMP harness to fit. I need some more camber and I may try to get some wider rubber out back, front is pretty maxed with the 255/40/17 on the 17x9 +30 wheel.

This is my 3rd year tracking this car and I'm happy to discuss how to keep these things running on track if anyone desires!

That's a beautiful GTU Ben!! Definitely a very impressive build sheet on top of it! I'm glad you are able to track the car and still drive it on the street the best of both worlds in my opinion!

If you have the time and and desire, a thread would be great. There are some on here probably, not sure if they get updated though.
