Hey everyone, Dave here. I just purchased another 1st Gen. RX7 1983 GSL. this is my second RX7 the first one the engine seals went out and it sat for 4 years, engine pitted and done for. So I got ahold of 2 newer 12A engines and got one in the can but just didn't have time to get it finished, sold that to my brother in-law and bought another one. this one drives and need body work, I have time for that LOL. So far I have sound a lot of information on this site to be useful and hope to contribute my many years of mechanic skills to others.

 

I got a few pictures uploaded of before I purchased the car. It was a $500.00 find. Runs and drives with small oil leak off one hose, mostly a seeping leak not flowing out. I did have to reassemble the dash since the last person had no clue what he was doing.
Also anyone know where I can get a set of flush mounted head lights or the linkages for the pop up head lights.

 

LoL this is a bit frustrating the way this site is set up with a point system, you have to have 10 points just to reply to postings. I have been a mechanic for well many years and a lot of information to share, but cant... for now.

I have it running and on the road, still needs brakes, repack the front wheel bearings. took me a bit to put the dash back together.

 

wow 500 bucks. I would of bought it at that price too.

Good luck getting it on the road. My little brother has decided he wants me to help him(i.e. do all the work) bring a 7 back from the dead because I have had an 8 for a while.

 

Good luck reviving the car! I honestly wish there were more Rx7s out here. But at the same time I kinda feels nice to be one of the few people who own and drive them lol!

 

I know I have had 2 1st gen and I know of a 2nd gen sitting in a back field I am going to get once I get a few project cleared out... the wife wont let me get anymore till I get a few of them done...

 

I'm sure she will look beautiful when you're done with her
