Hi, my name is Gary. I've had my 1983 RX7 Limited Edition since 1984. We drove that car for many years and put about 107k mi. on it. We stopped driving it about 20yrs ago because it would not pass polution instpection in Md. I went out to go to work one day, and let it idle for warm up, and went in the house. When I came back out the header pipe and connected exhaust pipe was glowing red. The Cat. Covrt was clogged up tight. That evening I pulled the plug on the converter and drained the beads out of it and drove it until I had to take it for inspection. We didn't have the $900 for a Cat. Coverter at the time, so I drove it into my parents garage and there it sat. I pulled the car out acouple of months ago, put it on a roll back and had it taken to the local garage. I asked them to go over it and tell me if it would live again. Acouple of days later they call and said it was running fine. Yea it needed a few things, but heck I'm back to driving it again. Now, that it's got historic tags, it doesn't need no firggn inspection. Fiigured I would join the forum so that I could maybe find some parts to make it look good and maybe run alittle better.

Great story! I have antique VA tags on my 85. It's a great way to go.
