My first ever car was a 1982 rx7 that I enjoyed right up until someone turned right into my lane as I was crossing an intersection. That was about 1993.
I missed out on a super low km 1993 r1 in 2001. I'm still sore about that one.
And about a month ago, I purchased a 1997 with about 80k kms with some light mods. Its chaste white and probably needs a little work to pass the provincial safety inspection. Drl's, remount stock steering wheel and airbag, replace bushings due to clunking noise. I plan on getting this done before spring.
Unfortunately, I don't think I have pics of my first gen. It was red with black interior, but otherwise pretty stock.
Here are a few pics from a few days before I picked it up. It's in generally pretty good shape. A few paint issues I may try to deal with myself (learn a skill). The interior is in good shape except for the trunk carpet and missing bose system.
Some duct tape on the bumper that was covering some peeling paint. I'll make my first attempt at paint work on this. It currently has some winter tires on gold rims. It also came with summer tires on blue rims. More duct tape covering spoiler holes and missing emblems.
The engine was rebuilt about 7-8k kms ago. It looks like he kept the pre-cat, but added a pettit style intake and cool charge 3 intercooler. The battery was also relocated to the trunk (needs to be redone).
The rear suspension is clunking and probably needs new pillow bals, but it looks like it has some aftermarket trailing arms and toe links (maybe rotary performance).
Actually looks really nice in the pictures! It will be a fun project for sure!! Chaste White is a pretty rare color as well. It's nice to see one being cared for!
