'94 R2 weekend car guy's first post...
Hello, RX7Club! I bought my Brilliant Black '94 R2 back in '08. I'm the 2nd owner and the car is in good shape and all stock. I did a few autocrosses and joined Mazda's Racer Development Program. I've changed fluids and filters and the oil pressure sensor, EGR valve, pillow bushings, ash tray, storage compartment lids, rear view mirror, glove box handle, door handle covers, driver's door lock, radiator cap (rear), stock stereo *****, coolant level sensor, oxygen sensor, and "SWITCHING" vacuum hose since it was split at the end (though not leaking, thankfully), and had the front brake rotors turned and bled the brakes. Now my speedometer and odometer aren't working right, so I've been troubleshooting those. Good times!

Another FD in Vegas?
Alien,
I know NV is a big state but I was wondering if you happened to be located in Vegas as well. I've seen a couple FD's around but not many at all. Sounds like you know your way around the 94 pretty well. I've had mine since 2010 and had to work a few of the repairs you mentioned (no speedo issue yet though!)
I hope I'll see you around. Maybe a hot lap around 215/515?

Hi, guys...
Hi, Colin,
I'm in Vegas. I saw a yellow FD on Buffalo last week or so, but yes, not many FDs around. It's part of the FD fun for me that they were only sold in the U.S. three years (rare!). I do enjoy tinkering on the car and trying to repair things myself. I don't have my speedo back in the car yet but the main problem was a failure of "IC4", which is an LM2903 comparator chip. I intend to post a write-up of my investigation. I'm too risk averse to do a 215/515 hot lap, but that sounds so fun. If I was mayor, there would be a weekly late night closure of the highway for hot laps!
Hi, Johnny,
I'll post a pic after I get the car back on the road. It's Brilliant Black... !

I plan to leave it stock...
I like that the car is stock since that is rare and I find that stock cars are easier to maintain. I'll get another one for a three rotor conversion someday, someday...
