Thanks for the love
It has been a sheer joy breathing life back into the RX7. It was a sheer joy to drive back in the late 80s but even more so now that it is approaching Classic status.
The forward thinking of the designers and engineers that is classic looks are still relevant today in 2021!

I took one look, and had to own it. Walked in, did a test drive and then signed the papers and then 33 years later the fascination has grown stronger. I will upload pics tomorrow!

I have the original sticker somewhere at my folks garage. In 1988, this was on one of those rotating pedestals in the corner of the Horizon Mazda Lot in the Cerritos Auto Square.

Thats a great story on how you purchased your car! I've owned a few cars that I've bought from the original owner and each story is different. It seems Mazda dealers marketed the cars differently. Two of my cars were showroom display cars which I thought was very cool! A rotating pedestal would sell me on a new bright red 1988 RX-7 convertible for sure! I can imagine the beautiful paint and the perfect shiny BBS wheels.

I inadvertently upgraded (stock OEM unavailable) the fuel tank to the S5 model which holds 3 more gallons than stock. It was a nice addition because long drives here in Southern California to SF or Las Vegas really benefit from the higher capacity tank.
I am saddened that I sold off the original BBS mesh wheels. I would love to update my present wheels to a similar design mesh but in 17-18”

Complete service records
I’ll upload detailed photos soon. It’s like a time capsule when sitting in the cockpit and everything still works and functions well, except for my wiper switch which went out as soon as the warranty expired. -have researched to find out it’s a known issue

Glad you have all of the service records!! Has the car given you any issues over the years?
The wiper switch is known to have bad solder joints. Its fixable and as you said, common. I think the wiper switch in my 10th Anniversary RX-7 has cold solder joints as well. Been forever since I've used the wipers.
Will look forward to seeing more pictures of the car!
