87 Restore

I'm just a old truck driver trying to restore 87 mazda that my dad pick up back in 1989 from a salvage yard. Needed a little body work. Long story short he never got around to it so I've inherited the car when he past. Now it's time to get car back on the road.

Welcome!! Was the car wrecked when your dad bought it in 1989? Is it a very low mile example? Would love to see pictures of the car!!

Nice to see that its a TII!!! Looks to have been repaired well. Just time for some finishing body work and paint. How many miles are on the car?

21k miles is incredible!! I bet if you go through the fuel system and have the injectors and tank cleaned, put in a new filter, and clean the lines if need be, it would fire right up. The engine itself is likely just fine.

You have a very valuable car sitting there. If restored to its original condition, it would be worth quite a bit. That's one to hang onto and enjoy though. Nothing I would personally consider selling. Its great that its been in your family all these years. Even better that the wrecking yard agreed to sell your dad the car instead of crush it.
