84 GSL from Ottawa, Canada
Hi, Tim from Ottawa here...just picked up an 84 GSL with 135,000 km ( ~85,000 miles) for my next project. First ever rotary for me...mostly have played around with MKII Supras and BMW E34s.
Jumped on this particular Rx-7 as the body is totally solid, no rust, no bodywork, and always wanted one since high school.
Paint is faded and she runs rough, stumbles when accelerating - probably due to the rats nest being partially removed with the stock nikki carb in place. Obviously some work needed there... and the oil cooler leaks like a sieve.
Other than that she's tight, handles well - even the cruise control and stock tape deck still work...
Plans for her include getting her running right that being putting back the emissions sensors that were removed if keeping stock , or going aftermarket carb ...next paint, suspension upgrades, then RB exhaust. Looks like a few years of fun ahead....

Nice car. If you don't need emissions, get rid of it. But keep the Nikki.
1. Clean tank
2. replace soft fuel lines and filter
3. Rebuild nikki
4. Have fun!
If you're gonna spend money, exhaust comes 1st. Enjoy!

Thanks for the tips! Cars older than 88 here in Ontario don't need the recurring testing, however, need to keep the original emissions gear on the car...that being said I still have the cat and the charcoal canister...
I think I will start with the nikki to get it running right...alot of backfiring and stumbling...time to read up!
