Hi everyone,

Bought my '83 GS new in the fall of 1982. It was my primary daily driver until 1990, then became my wife and my summer car until 1999. (We live in the mountains and the winters required a couple of Suburus and then Audis.) I finally parked it in 2005 while I worked on a '72 Corvette which I recently sold. I've decided to resurrect the RX7 and neglect has taken its toll. Oh, it did start right up but is blew out tons of white smoke so I shut 'er down and will now start from scratch to get her running well again and back in shape. Interior is still close to perfect but the paint is oxidized and the right front fender crunched from when I side slipped out the garage one day. I'll try to keep everyone posted on my progress. I still think the 1st Gen cars are one of the best looking on the road.

Good luck on your project. Post some pics. Its rare to see an original owner car.

Sorry that it's taken so long but I finally moved the '83 up to my garage. It's been sitting in a communal hangar where I kept my airplane. Airplane was sold - 2009 was a rough year! Anyway, the pigeons took their shots and the place was pretty dirty. After 5 years I did get it started briefly but shut 'er down quickly. Then the clutch pedal went limp. Now, she's in my garage and I'm ready to go to work.
