I am the owner of an 89 GTU. Unfortunately I only had the pleasure of driving this car for a few months when I got it and the motor went. It's been sitting now for 8ish years. Not sure what exactly to do with it, whether to fix or sell.

 

Welcome!! What happened to the engine? I'm all in favor of replacing the engine and bringing the car back to life! I think it would be a fun project and you will learn many of the car's systems inside and out. You will gain confidence in your ability to repair the car and gain a deeper appreciation for the car. There's a great satisfaction in restoring one of these cars! Would love to see some pictures of the car!
