1982 Automatic GSL
Just bought my first RX7. Have played around with bugs, buses and dune buggies. Glad to switch it up from VW stuff. Really excited about this 1982 RX7 that I picked up last weekend. Supposedly the shop sent the carb off to get rebuilt 10 years ago and never got it back. Other than that seems to be very complete and in decent condition. So that means it has been sitting outside for 10 years. Got it for $500.
Took it home and removed the spark plugs and poured some oil down the intake. Hooked a battery to it and all the lights work, headlights pop up and down and it cranked over and sounded alright.
105,000 miles on it and the seller said the engine had been rebuilt at 80,000. Been working on polishing and cleaning it up while I wait for a carb to come in.

Supposedly the business they sent it to went out of business and they never got it back. Trying to figure out the business and some names to see if I can trace it down.

Welcome!! That's a beautiful GSL!!! For sitting so long it's in great shape!! If you need a carb, hit the classifieds section here and see if anyone has one available. I'm sure there are people out there that have one. I have one from a 79 and one from an 85, but not one from an S2.
