I just looked at the post for the bose wiring and i had to wonder, what sound system came with your car?

my 85 RX-7 GS came with a 3 stack Clarion (sp?) setup.

speakers were blown and the stereo/tape/9 band EQ just didnt work.


so the questions being:

1) what sound system came with your car?

2) what have you replaced it with?



my answer

1) 3 stack (tape/am fm/ 9 band EQ) Clarion (sp?)

2) (temp) kenwood KDC-2011S 40w x 4 CD reciever. two 5 inch 60w 4ohm 2 way Punch speakers (front) two 6 1/2 inch Pioneer 220w 4 ohm 4 way speakers

keep in mind thats only for the time being, i have big plans for a sound system, i only hope i can get them working.

My ghetto *** convertible came with a kenwood deck and a Audiovox eq. Classy. The wiring was totally random, and the speakers were wired to the rear channel outputs on the stereo...the speaker wire wrapped around the PLUG ON THE RCA's. I have since then put in a clarion deck and ran speaker wires straight to the speakers, im too cheap to buy new speakers even though I'm an installer for Circuit City and get a discount. Go figure.

replaced pioneer's front, and in hatch, aslo pioneer 6x9's on top of storage bins, rockford amp pushing the four rear speakers and a rockford head unit, it matches my interior (red + black)

 

My Vert came with the "high power" double din Pioneer cd/tape player, the Pioneer AE sound enhancer, 6 1/2's in the front doors, 3 1/2's in teh head rest and 2 6" woofers behind the seats.

I replaced it with a Clarion DXZ 745MP head unit
Pioneer 6 1/2 Rev Series components
1 Kicker L7 8
1 Phoenix Gold XS2200 for highs
1 Phoenix Gold XS2500 for the sub
Phoenix Gold 32 band eq and a Phoenix Gold PLB1 & a 1 farad capistor

Plans include new headrest speakers setup to use the zones on my head unit, so I can listen to my techno and my girl can listen to her Led Zeplin at the same time and a Phoenix Gold Bass Cube

 

1) alpine casette player. blown rear speakers.

2) pioneer CD player. legacy 6.5's in the rear. kicker comp VR 10" sub pushed by kicker KX300.1 amp

 

88 GXL - came all stock.
Replaced:
1. Head unit - Pioneer DEH-MP7500 (MP3)
2. dual 12" Subs with 600w amp - JL Audio
3. all interior speakers - 4" Rockford Fosgate
