yet another bose question

Well i have a 93 touing and i just pulled the factory head unit out with the factory cd player and replaced it with the new pioneer avic d3 navi unit and i was attempting to keep all the stock bose speakers. I am using the scoche adapeter from crutchfield and the volume not very loud and the front right speaker is not working and it seems like the center dash speaker is not working either does anyone have any imput??

if that head unit puts out less than 4v you may have to crank the scosche adapter all the way to the max. Do it a little at a time starting from zero until you get acceptable volume with the receiver turned all the way up. also may want to check the crimps on the scosche as one of mine was not crimped correctly and not making contact.

thanks.... i will have to check the factory crimps on the scosche adapeter but the other problem is that there is a whining noise coming out of the speakers that do work. And that is with the engine not running?? As far as the level outputs on the scosche adapeter i had to turn them all the way up and it still wasnt that loud with the stereo all the way up. And when i say that it wasnt that loud, it was at about a level that i would have it riding down the freeway to overcome the road noise. Not loud enough to not be able to have a conversation with a person in the passenger seat??

you are using speaker level outputs from the receiver, right?

Humming sounds like a bad ground... or a speaker/speaker wire is grounded....
The center is a POS and you should either replace it or toss it...

what he said. Also, check the specs for the head unit- what voltage does it put out?
