Y my Kenwood stereo shut off for 2 sec if I step on the brake light?

Y my Kenwood stereo shut off for 2 sec if I step on the brake light?

Hey Basically it's 93 rx7 I have the kenwood head unit,kenwood passive ex, 2 small amps, 1 for my 6x8 2 way,and the other for the Bazook tube base {not amplifield type} Anyway if I step on my brake pedal the everything shut off for 2 second if the car is not running, if it run with all the lights on everything dim when step on the brakes? AM i drawing too much voltage?

yep, bad ground... had the same problem, and knew exactly what it was... i forgot to hook the ground back up inside the shifter housing when i put the tranny back in. presto, all fixed.

i have a problem like that too. I have a Kenwood KDC-9017 and whenever i hit the brakes or jsut drive sometimes the deck shuts off! ground is perfect, power wires are all hooked up right... i just dont get it.

Yikes, sounds like a scary problem. WookeysRX7, have you relocated your battery? If so, that might be the source of your issues. If not, what are you running? Amps? subs? Mo' details!
