I am just wondering what you guys think about this. I don't think the look will be the same but it should hold up better than leather.

If you do, talk to me about buying your leather seat back covers to differ your cost a little.

I think it would great but the Mazda OEM red is a VERY difficult color to match.

High grade marine vinyl or leather both have about the same wear characteristics: 100,000 double rubs on a Wyzenbeek machine (don't ask...). That's equivalent to getting in and out of your car 50,000 times before wearing through the top cosmetic layer.

Ultrasuede BRAND Ambience can handle 200,000 double rubs. Ultrasuede BRAND Milano, (the same as Alcantara) a little thinner but with a little more luxurious knap can handle 125,00 double rubs.

My advice on new fabric, weather you use leather or Ultrasuede is go for the good stuff. The cheap off brand stuff will make you cry after a year of use since it will start sagging, crocking and pilling and probably shrink and stretch (yes, at the same time) as well.
