Question wipers and underlying plastic grill removal

I was curious if anyone had any experience on how the wipers can be removed, and more importantly that black plastic grill that runs underneath them. That black plastic piece that runs between the hood and windhsield and traps all the leaves and crap, well, I would like to remove that and refinish it. My car is will be getting repainted and that faded piece of plastic, and the wiper arms, will look like ***.

I checked the shop manual, but it can only be seen in the parts section and the diagram is pretty convoluted. I see about 8 circles in the plasic grill piece, do those need to be popped out?

Any help would be appreciated.

carefully take off the black caps at the bottom of the wiper blade and there will be a nut unscrew that and the wiper arm will come off wiggle it and force it off and at the passengers side there are two more caps with screws under them take them out and the cowl should come off

yeah you need to remove all those covers and unscrew the screws underneath. then the cover will just slide off.
