wierd radio problem with headlights

i just got finished installing my radio. it works fine until i turn on the lights. the factory harness was cut out, but i'm very competent with troubleshooting electrical circuits. anywaysi'm quite sure its the light switch, but i was wondering if anyone encountered this problem before.

Thanks, mike

You connected the ground wire from the radio to the illumination wire in your car... run a new ground wire directly to the chassis of your car somewhere nearby. When you are testing the wires for ground makes sure that you flick on the lights from now on and makes sure that you have the right wire.
