He's complaining about understeer and you're telling him to get even SKINNIER tires up front?

My set up= 17x8 f w/235-45-17 17x9 r w/275-40-17. I cant feel no understeer on my set up. But than again i have the 2pce crimson wheels and some really good tires. I also dont have coilivers and what not. I do have the eibach springs and some adjustable shocks.
Not sure if this helps anybody on what size they want for some no understeer feeling?.

Why did this thread get moved to the interior/exterior forum and not the wheel/tires/suspension forum?

Most likely an "oops". When I first started as a moderator, I did it plenty of times. The problem is, then you need a Super Mod or Admin to move it to the right location (and they are sometimes hard to come by on a weekend).

Many ppl on this forum who are avid road course goers run staggard setups. Few run 255s all around, although I believe that's what the RE JGTC car runs (255s or 285s all around, I forget which one).

Set up correctly (correct widths, weights, tires, and alignment settings), a staggard setup can be better given that you're making a lot more power than stock (wider contact patch in the rear). Combos like 225s/255s, 255s/275s, 245s/285s, and 285s/315s are among the popular/recommended one...from what I've come across at least.

It is 285's on 10 inches wide all around....

my setup is type rz bbs wheels (8 f and 8.5 r) with 235 and 255, h&r springs and rb swaybars, the rear on the less stiff setting

the car starts as slight understeer that is easily corrected with gas, I prefer it this was as it is safer to drive fast

so he should get bigger rims then.. why put a tire meant for a 8 in rim on a 7.5?
His size is 18X7.5 front 18X8.5 rear i run 17x8.5 in the front..

The tire size is secondary. First, he should be running *at least* the same width rim as OEM, not smaller! THEN, when he's got the proper sized rim, he should go about seeking the proper tires.

All too often, ppl try and make tire and/or rim combinations "work" when they're not correct fitment for the FD. The results, 9 times outta 10, are a mess.

Anyone who says the car doesn't understeer with a staggered wheel setup, either has a stiffer rear suspension than stock or doesn't push the car hard enough to tell.
