i just picked up a set of sparco evo seats for an extremely good deal. only prob is now i need the bracketry to make them fit. i've searched and found pics of them installed, but no leads on where to get the mounts that let you use the stock slider. anyone know where to purchase them from?

As far as I know, you have to create your own adapters to mount them to the stock rails.

As Mahjik said, you have to make your own. I would also bet that you will not get them to fit without hitting pretty hard on the door panel. The EVO is too wide to properly fit.

If you got a good deal on them, I would take advantage of that and try to sell them and break even.

Damian has Sparco Evo seats in his track FD, and they fit without hitting the doors. I was over there on Saturday looking at them and it is custom bracketry+sparco brackets on the stock sliders. The seats came with the car though so he may or may not know about their installation.

Unfortunately (for me) that combination doesn't get me what I want, 1.5"+ more headroom since I'm 6'5".

It's funny how these cars are different from one another. I've seen a couple of FD owners with Evo seats that had to cut out some of the left shoulder wing to clear the door panel. Slight differences in mounting placement and height, perhaps.

Very true. Every time I look at someone else's car I see something different than mine. (of course that's partially because there's so many things missing/wrong on mine that the previous owners messed up)

I do know that the mounting height of the stock '93 touring seats and the seats that are in Damian's car are within a 1/4" in terms of height from the floor to the bottom of the seat. That's mainly what I was interested in.

thanks for the info. i would sell them, but i can't handle my R1 seats anymore and i got them half priced, brand new so i couldn't pass it up. however, if i can't get them to fit like i want, then i will most likely sell them

haha. i've seen pics of those in eric's car. the original evo is just a hair more narrow

i did a test fit without the sliders and they just barely hit. i think with some fabrication and a little work, i can make em fit just fine. i was hoping for the easy way out, but then again, i do have an FD. lol

no such thing is the easy way out. Making your brackets shouldn't be a very hard problem at all. My sliders are still useable.

may i ask what material you used? i was wanting to use aluminum flat stock, but i'm not sure how thick i should get to hold the weight. i'm only 160lbs, so i don't think it'd need to be too thick

I just used come old rusty angle iron that I had laying around. Aluminum stock will work. You'll use the stock sliders but you'll need to cut two peices of metal to square off the assembly. I was able to use the stock rear seat mount holes but had to run two holes through my floor up front. No biggie....

do you have any pics? my idea didn't go over too well. with the seats sitting directly on the floor with the side mounts, i have maybe 3 inches of head room. i may end up getting rid of them if they move upwards much

thanks man, i really appreciate it. i'm 6'4", so i'm trying to keep as much room as possible! i can only move the seat up maybe an inch from the floor to retain my desired height. if i can't do it, then i'll probably get rid of em

it's possible. The stock slider at about 1 inch tall and those will be basically on the floor so..... you should be okay.
