What's wrong with my JVC KD-S590 Deck Pls!?

Hey guys, here is the story, I was driving to work and my deck is working fine. I get to work, park the car, work for my 8hour shift. Get back to my car to find my car batt is dead (I am a tard and left the inter lights on lol!) Regardless I jumped it and it's goin fine, I plug in the deck and all it does is flash on and off. Only the lighting part of the deck, not the letters or anything.
Do you think maybe connecting the jumper cables backwards briefly could have done it? the person connecting the cables to my car (should have done it myself i know) didn't connect it right, But I didn't turn over the engine, could that have done anything?

Now the only things I can think that may have done something was when i charged the engine, or cause the deck was in the sun the entire day. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Check the ground wires and the fuse.

yeah and for people attempting to help me out (thanks in advance) here are more of the symptoms.

When I turn on the dash lights and then switch it again to the head lights the clock dims a lot. And sometimes the clock won't even turn on when I turn the key to accessory. Nothing else seems to be affected, car runs fine.

Also on top of that the open door light aint comin up when I open the left door. Must be all related i suppose.

Please Help!!

If you are using the stock Red/black wire for ground... stop. You need to use the 10mm bolt by the drivers side dash access panel by your right knee ... This will stop the dimming. Grounding to the body will be better then grounding to the stock wiring. This MAY fix the problem or you may have already fried the headunit.
