Those aren't Mazdaspeed, those are knockoffs. Please don't put cheap-*** seats in your FD! At least look at some Corbeau A4s or CR-1s.

Then why not wait until you do have the money?

Used stock seats sell for ~$400 on the forum. If you can't afford that....maybe you should be owning something else....

Seriously, we're not just being snobbing and telling you you need mult-thousand dollar seats just because its an FD, but from a safety aspect those cheap seats mostly are un-tested and you have no idea how they are going to react in a collision. I have a set of ~$1500 carbon fiber memoryfab seats ,and I still regret I did not spend the extra cash for the FIA certified units. Dont skimp on something important, try and track down a nice set of used R1 seats, or as Rynberg said, corbeau sells some really reasonably priced aftermarket seats.

funny how a simple question gets so much feed back but never answered. so if i cant afford thousand dollar seats then i shouldnt own a fd? get a life. its a car. yes i love it but still its a car. its not like a 100k vehicle that only a select few can afford. so yes i think i should own it. i dont understand why the neg feed back. its a simple question. WHAT SIZE FITS THE CAR????

It's not a simple question. Car seats don't come in "Small, Medium, and Large". There is no universal size, you have to look at the dimensions of the seat to see if it will fit. I typically compare seat dimensions to the Sparco Torino or the Corbeau CR1. Both of those fit but are pretty tight. So, if the seat I'm looking at has larger dimensions than either of those; its pretty much a no-go.

SIMPLE ANSWER ! 90+% of them don't fit !

There used to be a GB for a re-upholserting "kit" that somone claimed would take 2-3 hours / seat to do yourself, for a couple of hundred / seat... maybe Mahjik can point you to that thread !

Bride's fit. Just make sure you get FD Bride rails to fit with them.

They're also $$$

Since there are few choices that fit, people can get top $ for the ones that do, and even fewer of them care enough about the couple thousand FD's to make rails for them. Your best bet is to stay stock and get re-upholstered will save you money over aftermarkert...

Yep, that's the main benefit/drawback for updating the FD's interior is that basically, only the expensive seats fit. You can't do like the Civic and 240sx guys do and get the $70-100 seats and slap them in the car.

I got quoted $1200 to recover my stock seats. The guy kept going on about "french seams" and double stitching. I told him no thanks.
