What is Phantom???
Hey people,
My 81 FB has a Phantom security system with an ignition pin code of four numbers. The numbers of the code adhere to how many times you "click" the ignition while the system is locked to be able to start the car. It can be abled and diabled easily. I can't find **** on Phantom anywhere and I didn't install the system on the car. I've also noticed that I never get pulled over. Every time a cop uses his radar gun or laser my exhaust overheat light will blink on the dash panel. Sometimes it will stay lit for the duration of a radar trap. It is a very mysterious system and I need info on it. There's also a 9 volt battery and harness wired into the wires in my engine bay. I've asked a cop I know to try and read my speed (while i wasn't speeding of course) with his equipment and he said that it scrambled the numbers on the machine and made it impossible to read, both times I passes by him! This is strange because obviously the Phantom system is outdated or obsolete compared to the new equipment the police use. Right? Do any of you out there have Phantom security and/or know anything about it? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
