What Is The Oem Mazdaspeed Gt-c Front End Made Out Of?????????

I have placed 3 threads and no one has answered this question. Everyone gives their opinion but no one has giving me a True Answer by personal experience or by facts.

Please does anyone know if the OEM Mazdaspeed GT-c front end is Fiberglass or urathane???

If its Urathance i need a GTC front End ASAP. Ive called all the Rx7 stores and resources and no one knows for sure what material is made out of and even worse nobody has it in stock.....pls help or else im just going to settle for the 99 fron end.
Thanks
Saul V

MazdaSpeed GT-C is FRP. But you do get the lens covers and grill for the slots in front of the wheel well.

No one has one in stock cuz MazdaSpeed North America is now completely different than MazdaSpeed Japan. MSNA is now concentrating on modding those Protege/MP3.

Real 99 front end is urethane but replicas will be FRP.

As far as i know the ONLY front bumper(s) that are anything other than fiberglass are OEM 93-98, and OEM '99 w/ plate holder.

As i've heard, these two aren't actually urathane, they are some other flexible plastic similar to but stronger than urathane.

Someone stands to make some decent money with a good quallity urathane plate-holderless 99 replica, but we are at a stalemate on them. Nobody wants to produce it without money up front, and nobody wants to buy it without seeing a finished, mounted and painted production example. Sux.

Oh yeah, My 2 cents;

The GTC is WAY too extreme for a streetcar, will be cracked in a month with normal driving, the light covers are hideous, it ruins the lines of the car, and practically screams, "I am 19 and driving a car purchased with my folks gold card. please pull me over and write me tickets for my aftermarket tint, can exhaust, lack of front license plate and anything else you can stick my spoiled suburban rich kid butt with."

LOL

tHAT Was Funny, I do agree, it looks a bit extreme, but i truelly like the looks of it. I wish someone would create a replica that does not sit so low and that it uses a bit more round curves on the bottom that will match the car. I do love the way it looks anyhow....I hate the little side fenders that it has though

That's ur 2 cents but the GT-C w/o covers look horrible. Since it's recessed for it unlike other kits that are meant to "display" the combo lights.

No one has commented that my car looks like it's some 19 yr old's car. Go look at one in person (not pix) and re-assess...it looks way better.

Here is my other choice. If i dont find anything im just going to get the 99 Front End. My car is also black and ive seen black cars with the GTC Front end and you cant really appreciate the details, You cant even tell is a GT-c until you looks closer...so i think my wallet is pulling towards the 99 end
If i could just get rid of that 99 plate holder though

Well, between those two, I would go with a '99 Spec replica from Pettit (the one without the front plate).

Not that HedgeHog's car looks like crap (it doesn't ), but I'm not a fan of the GTC front....

i made up my mind, after talking to a bunch of people that have the GT-C, They all said, is a bad *** Front Bumper, However if its used as a daily driver it will chip easily..... the same thing goes for any other aftermarket body kit out in the market.
All of the after market Body kits are made out of Fiberglass which chip easy and will crack open with any rock or impact.
For the price and for the material, the 99 Front end made by MAZDA JAPAN is the best bed. Will last you long, material is flexible just like any OEM Body Part and it looks very nice...
Thanks everyone.

Sorry to all GTCV owners, i probably went a little over the top being sarchastic... but in general, i think most all body kits look cool in pics, but are a little much in person. We already own one of the most beautiful cars on the road afterall.

I think if i HAD to get fiberglass, The Pettit 99 replica would be the safest bet because you still bolt the semi-flexible 99 lip to the bottom of it, and that may offer a little more protection than you get w/ most FG front bumpers. Anyone w/ real-world experience?

I have ran the GT-C nose for about 9 months now... I cracked it twice BEFORE i installed an aluminum front splitter for the track. It takes one helluva hit now w/o damage......i scrape EVERYTIME coming into my neighborhood. I looked at every nose on the market before i went w/ this one......some hate it....some love it. I'm the latter.
