As for video, I watch DVD all the time. I get my favorite bands in concert on DVD and mostly listen to it. the passengers have something tho watch too. Plus, I got it for the NAV combo unit that is coming out soon anyway, not really so much for the DVD function.
And yes, it plays almost any standard media file mpg, mp3, avi, jpg, gif, tiff

its not a touchscreen is it?
oh and.. when playing non-video files, how are the menus and all... any screensaver sort of eq or visualisation effect or waterver? sorry for the stupid q's but only an owner can clarify that.
can't seem to find anything from decriptions from the manuf. website or online shops.
