What color to paint interior plastics?

My plastics are looking like **** and I want to refinish them. Seems like this is a hot topic right now.

I am eventually going to get them wrapped in CF. Could be this year, could be in 3 years. I don't know. Which is why I am thinking about a different color other than the standard duplicolor black.

So let me get your opinions.

If you have a black interior, then you should refinish them in the duplicolor black. If you have a tan interior and you really like the tan, I would suggest using some kind of duplicolor peanut butter interior paint, to paint over the old scratched OEM tan color.

Stick with the oem looking black. I've seen the shiney piano black in person. Doesn't look bad either. But glare could be something to worth taking into account

Since your car is VR, steer clear of anything but the darkest greys. Honesty, I would think a wrinkle finish black would look especially good with the red. (Then, if you recover your seats, you might want to look at a cream color for the leather and got with a very Ferrari-like color scheme of red exterior with a black dash and cream seats. Maybe red overmats or floor carpets. Red, black and white are supposedly the most powerful psychological color combination. Think **** flag: lots of red and a smaller amount of black and white. )
I have Jason's OEM style Floor mats, R1 Seats, and black interior. I am eventually going to get some red Recaro seats.

Your saying the darkest greys. So how about something like this...

but darker.

I think the medium silver, grey, or dark charcoal bumper paints by Duplicolor might look like that.

plastics

Mine got painted silver. I have 2 pieces left and my interior, other than seats, will be complete. Well other than a new gauge hood. Seems whoever installed the stereo bent the tabs. So when I pulled it into a million pieces it went. I do like the duplicolor black though, for a good refresher, I say its the number one choice.

So I painted my plastics duplicolor black. I don't like it at all. If I have a chance to make the interior something other than stock I'm gonna do it.

I just went a bought duplicolor gunmetal and duplicolor graphite gray metallic. I think the gunmetal might have been a bit to light with my exterior being red. So I tested out a color by putting down a coat of graphite gray then a coat of gunmetal on top of that. What came out was a titanium look. When the light hits it to make it shine, it looks more gunmetal.

I'm still undecided though if I want this color or just the gunmetal.

What do yall think

I had/have gunmetal and in the slow process of painting back to satin black. I got tired of gunmetal and want the OEM look back. My vote for you is to do piano black. Should end up with that luxury shine!

EDIT: My car is VR too. I can't seem to find pics to show you though.

I mean, I like the OEM look. But it's OEM. My friend summed it up nicely when he saw my freshly painted plastics when he said "it's to 1993." The goal with my project right now is modernizing the interior. I just got done doing white gauges, red HVAC lighting, PIAA white lights in the dome, white glovebox light. I'm going to be putting in a push button start and sound dampening next. So I'm trying to get a more modern look out of the plastics by putting a more modern color. I'll post pics when I'm done.

There are some old pics of mine here:

It's metallic black. Basically, without much light, it looks black like OEM. When light hits, it reflect on the metallic bits. In bright light, it can look gunmetal-ish.

Ya I've seen yours before. Looks great. I just gotta get away from black plastics.

I really want a good camera to take pics with because this color is ending up to be sick.
