Weird Bose Problem - Almost no volume
Weird Bose Problem - Almost no volume
Alright,
couldnt figure out a good title for this thread but here's a full explanation.
When i got my touring fd there was no bose wave tube, even tho its a bose car. There are aftermarket speakers in the door.
I just installed a head unit in the car (it came with no radio)
I have it wired properly, i believe, to the bose system. I used the Scosche wiring harness, and I properly wired the Radio relay so the amps kick on etc.
Now I get music out of the speakers, remember i only have the two door speakers, but i can crank the volume all the way to 40 (the maximum) and only then is it a decent level, but still hard to hear, and absolutely no bass or anything, the cone of the door speakers doesnt even seem to move slightly with bass.
I tried adjusting the gains on the scosche harness, and even turned all the way up it doesnt help. I checked all the settings on the radio and everything is turned up properly.
Is this a sign of a bad amp? Does the wave tube normally provide most of the sound so I'm simply experiencing what is normal without the tube?
Should I just put new speakers in all around and wire them directly to the head unit rather then through the stock wiring?
I don't feel like buying aftermarket amps, I just want to be able to hear the music.
Any help at all?
kevin.
