Is there a link to the hoods offered by VIS? I looked on their site and can't seem to find it.

You might be able to find some general info about them on ebay. There are a couple up for auction right now.

VIS is a crappy company for bodykits however they make some nice CF hoods and lips.

VIS makes amazing hoods, and the DID make bad body kits. Now they are sick. Their fiberglass in incredible thick, and they just started producing poly fiber.

Yeah, on eBay the MS replica hood is listed as a V-Spec which is trying to confuse buyers to thinking its a VIS. Since neither two require hood pins, this is the type I want.

VIS is top notch. They make 3 different style hoods for the FD. All 3 of them are on their website.

Excellent fitment and quality for the cheapest prices. I have been dealing with them for a few years and can't praise them enough. Plus the clear coat that is used on the hoods is absolutely beautiful.

****, I really need to get the ball rolling on a group buy for them. huh Series?

*edit* If you buy a hood of Ebay that says it's a VIS hood, ask for a pic of the badge they stamp all their hoods with. The hoods are so good, they are being copied now.

This car is Loi's from sportcarmotion.com. He used to have the VIS knightsport hood, and the fitment was great. The only prob that I could see was that it didn't have the screen already attached to the vents (it may have come separately).

If anyone gets their hood, I seriously recommend fabbing a sturdy screen of some sort... there's just too much opportunity for someone to f0ck with the enginebay

thanks for the input guys

how are the lines? or gaps?

I've seen some aftermarket hoods with gaps that are narrow on one end and the gap gets bigger.. it looks like ****.

I've seen some pretty horrendous gaps with some of these aftermarket hoods. In fact, I've even seen nasty gaps with oem hoods(because oem front bumper sags).
However, I have a couple buddies who have the KS replica hood from VIS, and I must say that there are very little gaps. I'm impressed, that's for sure.

I will call the owner first thing on Monday and see what the deal is. I know when I was sponsored, I payed 250 for them so maybe I can get them in the low 300's for everybody.

I'm pretty happy with my vis ks hood. A couple imperections in the weave around the vents but the finish is pretty good and the fit is great. bolted it up and the hood latched the very first time. no aligning or anything.

Plus it keeps my water temps 3 degrees celcius cooler and my air temps 2-3 degrees celcius cooler.

no hood pins either..

I have been wanting this hood for quite some time and keep seeing them on ebay. Glad to hear the fitment is good.

Damn, that black fd is exactly what I am going to do to my car. I have a 93 touring brilliant black which is what the black one above looks like. I am going with the GTC front end and the VIS hood shown in the pic. I am in for a group buy on the hood for sure.

I used to be a big VIS dealer. Their hoods from about 4 months ago and beyond in the past are good. anything newer and all the hoods in the future are going to be getting worse and worse. A local dealer sold 14 hoods here last month and all but one had problems with them already!!! if you go on other forums there are so many people that have had many problems with them!!! I would get a carbon tuner hood
