Verify? Speed Signal Wire in FC

I am going to install a Pioneer NAV unit in my wife's 87 and one of the leads is for "Car Speed Signal Input." I have reviewed the wiring diagram and believe this should be tied into the G/R wire in the Meter Harness (Page 50-40, 50-92).

Would someone please verify this for me? I did a search and found some information on the topic, but not exactly this question. As you can see I am trying to answer my own question, but a validation would be great!

Thanks in advance!

Little help?

Can anyone verify that I read this correctly before I start tapping into wires this weekend?

Thanks!

I will be adding a similar unit soon ,so will be watching this.

Any chance verifying it with some of the Cruise control wiring? on my 89 MX6, the speed signal comes right off the gauge cluster (since I'm guessing the Speedometer generates the current for the signal).

Pioneer AVIC-D3

hypntyz, that is the same unit I am putting in the wife's ride along with an XM adapter and a 12 CD changer. How do you like the unit and do you have any sage words of wisdom for the install?

Thanks!
