So I want a V1. The newest model is the v1.8. My question is if you think if it would be worth a $200 price difference to get the latest model as opposed to the model that was just replaced (Ie. save $200 & buy a v1.7 instead of paying $400 for a 1.8).

I figure the v1.7 still works better than any other brand out there, & I could get the 1.7 on eBay for around $200.

I think I should go with the 1.7 & save $200... unless you guys know something I don't.

What do you think? Would the latest version (1.8) be worth a $200 difference in price?

All it is is a flash upgrade. Get the old one and send it in for I think like $75 to get it upgraded. I have no idea if they give release notes. I have one, but have no idea what version it's running or whether it's worth upgrading.

if you contact V1 they will give you an honest opinion on whether or not you should send it in.

& if I remember right, the Valentine site charges 100-200 to upgrade the 1.7 to 1.8 & claims its not worth it right now.
