Is it possible to hook up a laptop to a head unit useing the auxiliary input on the head unit?

 

if the laptop has a head phone output, you should be able to get a simple adapter from radio shack to convert it to RCA type plugs, or if you head unit has a front mounted input jack, then you just need a male to male adapter cable.

 

Do you tihnk I'll be able to notice a diffence in sound quality if I hooked a laptop up in this manner to play MP3s?

 

You may find there is a little less volume, but over all I wouldn't think so.

i did this in my friends sunfire, worked well actually. sounded really good, just used alot of battery on the laptop running mp3s non-stop

 

Did you use the headphone jack on the laptop that Icemark mentioned?
