Tinting 3gen taillights

My friend was spray tinting these other taillights and it got me thinking. What if I were to tint just the clear plastic lenses above the taillights. It is transparent paint so it will still shine through. This way it will match all the black around the taillights. Has anyone done this, have any insight, or pics?

Thanks,
Chris

What clear plastic lenses above the taillights? There aren't any plastic lenses above taillights.

I think you are talking about smoking the entire taillight outer lense. Are you taking the taillight apart to tint it? It's already tinted, just kind of light (20% tint). I think it looks better as is, especially if you have the 99 spec conversion.

You know the plastic piece that you would remove to do the 99' spec conversion. Yeah it looks ok, but I think almost a solid black would look sweet. The tint can get really dark in large amounts and still shine through. My friend was spraying this guys taillights for a black car. The tint looked as black as the paint and still shined through.
