Hey guys, Im about to take my car to the body shop to get it painted... Damn sun in FL fried my paint made it look like a Red Cherry Matte .

So I just moved to Santa Cruz, Bolivia and I brought my 7 with me, and I think its time to start out fresh with a paint job.

Here's a pic I took a while ago when I was living in Boca Raton FL before moving down to Bolivia.




So I was thinking about paint my car with the True Red that comes in the Mazda Mazda 3 and MX-5 Miata.




Im also considering the Victory Red that comes in the 05-08 Chevy Corvette and Radiant Red that comes in the 02-08 Lotus Elise





Do you guys know about any interesting Red paint codes? Can you please post pics of RX-7s or other cars so I could have an idea what you're saying?

Any oppinions and/or suggestions are welcome

 

when i paint my vert im doin the red on the lotus that will look sexy

Radiant Red is close to the Ferrari Red

 

Ever tried detailing the paint? It can do wonders.

Yeah I know, but I have a dent in the right front fender, my sunroof used to have rust and bought a used MX-3 sunroof from a Junkyard (its the same sunroof) and spraypainted with the closest color. Im just gonna have it fixed and painted.

 

red is always a good choice, mine is laser red with a gold pearl, looks like candy apple in the dark and then just pops out in the sun:
in the dark ( yes i know c-west rear bumper is going)

BMW imola red on the M3's. Cant go wrong, ***** money.

 

My 07 chevy pickup is victory red, it's okay. Next to my FD, the chevy red, even though it's new, doesn't look as good as my FD.

Just think what new stock VR paint job, maybe with some bronze pearl to finish it off.

 

Oh Yeah! My brother also told me to go for the BMW Imola Red from the M3... now that I think about it... I dont think i ever seen a Red M3 :S??

Its the very same . So dont waste your time looking for an RX-7 sunroof... just go to your local junkyard and look for MX-3s with sunroofs, I got mine for $15

the one i was refering to is imola red and imola red II, ive sprayed it many a times before. The hellrot red is that ugly orangish red color. :barf:

 

As others have said, try to do a FULL detail. Look up on autopia and see if there are any good detailers in your area.

Hey Black Magic, can you post pics of your RX-7? Today I saw a Red 92-99 BMW M3 here in Santa Cruz, Bolivia and it looked very nice.... Im not sure if its the OEM Red, or a Custom Red but it was a nice lookin Red.

 

That's the Mazda True Red that Im talking about... it comes in the Mazda MX-5, 3, 6.... I suppose its the same Red that's from Mazdaspeed.

 

do a silver base coat and a candy red top coat with clear. wont set you back to much more.
