For those with a Grant wheel in an FC....

Just a question of curiosity.... I just finished installing a Grant Signature Series wheel with adapter kit #6547 (per grant's website) and noticed turning the wheel seems a little on the stiff side. Turn signal cam cancel is engaged properly, nut is torqued to factory spec per fsm, and yes, I did apply grease to the contact ring on the back of the hub as the directions said to. My only guess is the steering column shroud/plastic surround piece may be rubbing against the adapter hub. Has anyone else noticed this as well upon installing this set-up?

Does the car have a manual rack? What size is the wheel? Stock is 380mm IIRC. Are you hearing any rubbing/grinding?

It might just be that the wheel is smaller than factory, thus making it harder to turn (less leverage).

i put a grant setup in my 87,88 b2200 and after they went bye bye i installed it in my 89 vert. in my trucks the hub kit rubbed the colum trim plastic. but not on my 89. only real issue i have had in my vert is the contact area for the horn has worn away so the horn works if its in the right spot.... and the 6-8 allens that hold the wheel to the adapter always lossen up. ive put locktight on them and all but it still does it so i live with it.

Yes.
You can easily confirm your suspicion by removing the surround trim and driving.
