Those with fiberglass bumpers or sideskirts, post your experiences
I was just wondering, of those people who have fiberglass bumpers or sideskirts, how many are satisfied and how many are unsatisfied?
Please post how long you have had your fiberglass bumper or sides and describe the problems you have had, or if you have had no problems.
Thanks!

if it's a show car.. you may be ok.. i wouldn't know about that situation. But if your car is your daily driver.. forget it. Never again will i buy a FG body panel.. only poly. The paint on the glass chips ALL the time.. it gets to the point where you don't enjoy driving because you see every pebble bouncing off the front of your car.
And lord knows if you go through a good dip pulling into a driveway or something and the bumper scrapes the ground.. you'll have at least scrap marks on the bottom.. if you are lucky thats all. If the bumper flexes any you'll have spider webs all through your paint.
if you just show. buy whatever you want.. if you drive it.. get the parts in poly or don't get them at all..

cool thanks for the opinion. My bro has a fiberglass front on his daily driver 300zx and hasn't had any problems, but then I hear stuff like you posted and it makes me pause.
Only bumper thats urethane that isn't imported from Japan is the 99-spec or 99-spec replica, correct?
I know a ton of you guys have FG bumpers. Need more opinions.

i had a full kit on a civic for a year in florida. it wasnt too bad... the front was the worst part. you just have to REALLY watch where you take your car, especially if it is lowered. i ended up having to repair the front bumper about once every 2 months. lucily the spray paint that i found matched decently with the paint on the car so you couldnt tell i always repainted it. but fiberglass is easy to repair. i never had a problem with it flexing too much. and it was a huge buddy club bumper.
