tar removal?
tar removal?
Somehow I got a bunch of little hard spots of tar on my car. Maybe 1/10" round or so, and there's a helluva lot of them all around.
I picked off a few with my fingernail then wiped it off but it looks like it's leaving smear marks. Anybody know what would either disolve or make this process easier on me and my paint?
Thanks!

Sure I do. I am a pro at this because the lovely township I live in tar and chips the roads every summer leading to the little ****** you described. I use 2 things mainly. 1 is baby oil. Put some on your finger or a rag and slowly work it over the tar for a while, it should loosen it right up. Another item I use on the really touch ones is kerosene. Yeah, I know it sounds starnge but it works pretty well. Pour some on a rag and gently rub the tar. Neither of these will harm your paint, though I would maybe throw a coat of wax on the area after using the kero. Hope it helps.

Never had this on any of my cars before, especially this bad.
Thanks!

You think tar is BAD, try the yellow road paint. Our DOT painted lines on a road near where I was fishing one morning, but never posted signs. I passed a car and ran over a few of the dotted lines. That stuff is above and beyond tar to remove, I had to have it done at a shop because nothing I tried even made a dent in that crap. Took the shop a full day and a half to get it clean too.
There is that stuff that you can buy at any auto store thats called the bug and tar remover...
I used the blue stuff and it seems really mild and didn't scratch the paint. Took the tar right off...those damn pesky bug "splats" too!
But just to be sure I did it right before I washed the car then rewaxed that area.
