System Question

Hello,
I currently have the following components in my system:

Infinity Kappa Component set (4 1/2 & tweets) in the front (4 1/2's in the stock locations and the tweets mounted in the center console vents)

Kenwood 6x9's mounted in boxes behind the rear seats

El cheapo Sony CD Head unit running the whole show

My question deals with my upgrading options. I want to add more bass and I already have a 12 inch Kicker competition sub, just no amp to run it. So what I was going to do was get a 2 channel amp and bridge to power it. Also I was going to get rid of the 6x9's and put some 6 1/2 in midbass speakers in the towers (midbass because the sub has a pretty small frequency range if I remember right, 20-100 hz? and the fact that in the rx most of your mids and highs come from the front anyway) and then get a 4 channel amp to run the midbass and the fronts. This is a viable option for me because I am on a limited budget and it would allow me to do the upgrading in stages. Does anyone see any problems with this setup, or having any other ideas? Would a five channel amp be a better choice (taking up less space is always a plus)? I also am trying to figure out a way to make a custom enclosure for my sub (needs about 1.5 cu. ft. for some nice tight bass) that fits underneath (replaces) the 2 compartments behind the seats in my rx ('87 N/A). What would be the best materials to make it out of (fiberglass & wood)? I have made a few wooden sub enclosures but have never worked with fiberglass b4? Would it be difficult to do on my own? Is there any websites that would be helpful for me? Or is there a company out there that makes enclosures for rx7's already? Any comments or help would be much appreciated, thanks. Sorry about the length.

First of all, let's get the car to sound good first. Here's what I would do with what you have right now.

1. Take out the 4" and tweeters, and mount them in the kick panels.

2. TAKE OUT your 6x9!

3. I'd put the 6" up front in the doors, but the towers would work as well. You just need to make sure your system is "aligned" so that the midbass hits when it's suppose to hit, and not a second or two after.

4. For the subs, I'd either build a fake floor for the sub, or get it to work in the open pockets behind the seats.

I'm sure I can come up with more ideas but my mind isn't working right now. Email me and I'd be glad to help you figure it out. I also have some stereo stuff you might be interested in, and I also can get really good deals.
