Swapping in aftermarket seats.

Alright so, my main car up until now has been a Saturn. As you can imagine....aftermarket is fairly minimal on those cars. Well I just picked up an 88 RX-7 and the drivers seat is torn up and I'm looking for something aftermarket to toss in. I was browsing eBay and saw these things.

Now I know they're generic seats and do not include brackets. Would I just bolt the stock seat brackets on and bolt them in or order some aftermarket brackets to run them? I like the look of the seats and they look pretty comfy. Any help is appreciated, thanks all.

Alright so, diggin around the sites. Looking at getting some Sparco brackets and sliders. Now my question currently is can you pretty much bolt these up to any aftermarket seat or do you have to look into JUST sparcos?

I have those Sparco brackets and sliders and I currently have cheap eBay cloth bucket seats mounted just bolt on...I did have to grind out a hole because it was off by 1mm to line up. (I have the Bomz seats)

SC Bomz

Hey guys, I say reuse your brackets. You might have to drill some holes. If not,buy matching brackets for the extra bucks.I was ajust also looking at the Bomz. They really look nice. I was checking out other sites looking for reviews and some guys "concerned about safety" said to stay away from "cheap seats" that they are not tested and if the back should fail in an accident that you could really hurt. What are the chances? What do you think of the latching mechanism? I think the quality looks great on the Bomz besides I don't have $500 to $700 for a pair of seats.

I have the Bomz and my car has been hit before. I'd say the seat is made pretty well for street use. Of course it's not going to compare to a "racing" seat designed for collisions during a race. The only concern I have for my Bomz seats is that, I'm too tall with my hair standing up in these seats! I'm trying to sell my pair of Bomz Black cloth seats right now so that I could find lower profile seats to go on my brackets.

The Bomz is able to Recline and fold forward all the way in both directions with the Sparco brackets by the way...

If you wanna buy my seats lemme know! (Garden Grove, CA)

I'm 6'2" so yea head room is a concern. I thought about cutting out a notch in the front cross beam that the front bolts go to,removing the mounting bracket for the back bolts and flattening out the tabs and mounting the brackets to the floor. That would give another 2 inches of head room. Do you have an Fb or Fc? Thanks,Rob

lol...yeah I'm only 5'7 but with my hawk I'm a good 5'10 and my hair is rubbing against the roof

I'm hunting for a nice Sparco solid bucket, no reclining.

The Bomz are in my FC3S, not FC3C (vert).
