I have a 12" in mine; it's a custom made fiberglass box that sinks down into the empty spare tire well. I'm screwed if I get a flat, but just make sure you have a phone w/ you.
It is a sealed enclosure, so it gives a nice tight punch for my rock music, but if you want the trunk rattling, real low freq of a ported box, not sure if that’s possible for such a small area. Check around for a sub that has a small area needed for a ported box. For an example, the Solo-Baric 12 from Kicker needs 0.88 cubic feet for sealed minimum, but 1.75 minimum for ported. I’m curious now, anyone have a 12” ported enclosure that wants to share?
